The Pomeroy Pirates won the opening-round game against the Muckleshoot Tribal School on the home court Tuesday, February 21, but last Saturday fell to Mt. Vernon Christian, bumped from further post-season action in the first and second rounds of the 1B State Basketball Tournament. Here 5-9 sophomore guard Jett Slusser (10) charges into the key ahead of Tribal School King's Mikey Anderson, taking the ball to the hole in the 69-62 win.
