COLFAX–The District 9 1B Cross Country Championship will be run this Friday, October 25, at the Colfax Golf Club here. The 5k run begins at 2 p.m.

Pirate team members include Evan Bartels, Aidan Knuteson, Cash Copher, Nick Bryson, Nick Vendeland, Samuel Lamb, Tony Entrup and Will Entrup.

Bartels, Copher, Lamb and Knuteson tuned up for the championships by competing at the Kyle Burnside Invitational in Pendleton last week.

Out of 24 men's teams and 156 individual runners, Bartels finished 96th in 20:12.8. Bartels is a Pirate senior.

Copher and Lamb came in relatively closely, at 135th and 137th, respectively. Copher's time was 22:39.1 and Lamb was six seconds difference, 22:45.1.

Finishing 145th was Pirate Aidan Knuteson in 23:54.0.
