POMEROY–Garfield Co. Museum has on display World War I (WWI) and World War II (WWII) uniforms, hats and other memorabilia from the era. Included in the displays are artifacts of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

On file are uniforms, pictures, stories, maps, books and other items belonging to local veterans Pat McCabe, Ruby Porter, Vivian Trescott, Johnny Capwell, Ferd Herres, Claud Long, Eric Woods, Ralph Smith, Lew Gable, Loren Koller, John Dye, Elmer “Skinny” Trescott, Abe Shelton, Jim McCabe.

Some featured exhibits are Margaret Wolf’s Civil Air Patrol shirt, Dan McKeirnan’s Gold Star Flag and much more from local service men.

On the balcony level, Ferd Herres’ bomber and leather flight jacket can be views and check out Skinny Trescott’s unique painted design on his dough boy hat from WWI.

Recently, two groups booked a tour of the museum giving us the opportunity to show what has been collected and share the many stories behind the artifacts.
