A Teen's Take

Being a 15-year-old girl is hard. Way more than I thought it would be.

POMEROY–Being a 15-year-old girl is hard. Way more than I thought it was going to be. School gets increasingly difficult, which everyone expected and the relationships teens develop, not necessarily the romantic ones, but not excluding them, get more complex. Friendships, family, peers. It all becomes a little more challenging.

Peer friends, a person must conquer the struggles of teenage drama, rumors, and personal opinions can cause major upsets. Family relationships require a bit more finesse because they are directly related to you which is a whole other thing.

As terrible as it sounds, family relationships have different priorities. For instance, going to a basketball game instead of doing chores. Trouble with a capital “T” which causes yet another hiccup in the relationship. I’m stubborn.

For me, the hardest thing about being a teen is having to wait to grow up. I already know what I want to do and now I have to wait to get started. I mean, I could work on getting better grades so I can get into a good college and keep a clean record so I can become a cop, but those things aren’t very exciting. They are, however, mandatory. Oh, the perils of a teenager, what to do, what to do.

I hope everyone had a great kick-off to the New Year and are enjoying the NFL playoffs. Go Seahawks!
