A Teen's Take

January 30, 2020

POMEROY–Personally, I dislike it when people ask me if I’m okay. Alright, not every time. Sometimes someone asks me if I’m okay because it is genuine and the person asking wants to know. That is when it can change the way your whole day goes. But generally, I don’t like the words “Are you okay” because if there is a reason you are asking, I’m probably not.

Life can be pretty overwhelming and stressful as a teenager sometimes and you just want to cry, but of course you manage those feeling when around other people. For me, life gets so stressful, then I’ll be completely fine, that is until I start thinking about my immediate to-do-list again. Then I go on overload, especially when I compound it by thinking of all the things I have to do when I get home. UGH! I become so overwhelmed it makes me shutdown for like an hour. I have no idea why, but it happens and once I’m there, I just have to wait it out. I guess it is my way of decompressing so I can get on with my day.

I hope everything is going well this week, enjoying the warmer weather, and preparing for the Super Bowl. Bring on the snacks!
