High winds and snow make shoot difficult

POMEROY–During the fourth Camas Prairie shoot, the Pomeroy Gun Club Junior Shooters battled high winds last Saturday and on Sunday, the Senior Club found a snowy background difficult to shoot over.

Forty-eight shooters battled the conditions on Sunday and Wayne Tetrick and Robert DesJardin were the only shooters who managed perfect 25s for the weekend. Lee Koller achieved a 24 while Sean Beale, Larry Bunch, Tracy Hanger, Mike Hastings, Buck Geiger, Richard Gittens, and Fred Zack all recorded 23s.

Juniors were led by the 23s of Mason Blachly and Danner Maves. Caleb Barron, Ollie Sievers, and Junior Magill had 21s. Top Senior Club Handicap scores were paced by a lone 24, Fred Zack. Buck Geiger and Luke Ledgerwood posted 23s. Tracy Hanger posted a 25 in Continental shooting which was the first perfect score of the year at the local Club in that event. Ken Bott posted a 23 and Buck Geiger, Steve Brown, and Clark Capwell had 22s. In Doubles Tracy Hanger had 41 and Larry Bunch and Travis Ledgerwood had 40s.


Levi Bowen had the top 12-year old and younger singles score with an 18 while Gunner Magill had the top score in Handicap with a 17.

In Sub Junior Competition, Junior Magill paced the competition with a 21 in singles and Braedon Fruh and Nick Bryson had 18s in Handicap.

Mason Blachly and Danner Maves had 23s in Junior singles and Blachly also had the top score in Junior Handicap with a 23. Colton Slaybaugh and Danner Maves posted 22s.
