A Teen's Take

March 5, 2020

POMEROY–One of the hardest things that I’ve had to do this year was finding a balance between school and my social life. It can be pretty difficult to balance those two things, especially when you have other clubs and sports. My biggest struggle right now is deciding if I want to get the highest grade in all of my classes or enjoy my high school years and live a little.

I’m the type of person who makes choices depending on how it will affect me in the long run. I understand that those type of people aren’t always the most fun, but it’s just who I am.

Currently I pay close attention to school assignments in class and make sure to get my homework finished before outside activity with friends and family. However, like most kids and some adults, I get the two crossed and mess around in school, letting my school work and grades slip. I’ve definitely done that a time or two. It is an ongoing challenge juggling social life and academia, but isn’t that true at any stage of life? Fortunately, expectations keep me on track which makes me strive to be better, because I don’t want to disappoint any one, especially me. I guess it’s just a part of teenage years.

I hope everyone is enjoying and taking advantage of the warmer weather.

Good luck to our Lady Pirates next week!
