POMEROY–Until further notice, Garfield County Hospital District (GCHD) co-CEO Mat Slaybaugh has announced that a no-visitor policy has been instated during the Coronavirus pandemic, effective March 13. However, all services will continue to operate as usual.

All hospital entrances are closed to the public except the southern Memory Manor entrance, in order to monitor and screen those entering the building. If someone requires Emergency Room services, please use the ER door as usual. Anyone coming to hospital district buildings will be screened at the door for symptoms of COVID-19. All staff will be screened twice a day to further prevent any exposure or spread. It is important to take precautions to protect GCHD patients due to their vulnerable nature.

“I want to again state that all other services will continue as usual and we do not believe our patients are at an increased risk by coming to appointments,” said Slaybaugh. “We will continue to keep the community up to date if anything changes.”
