A Teen's Take

October 1, 2020

POMEROY–School during a global pandemic is very strange. A lot of us just can’t wait for everything to go back to normal. I don’t even think the weirdest part is the mask-wearing, hand-sanitizing on your way into each class, or having to socially distance with your best friends. I think the weirdest part is having absolutely nothing to do after school other than your homework.

Usually, we would have sports practice or games. Now, we just go home and tweedle our thumbs. It’s so crazy to look back at the photos that pop in my memories on social media platforms from a year ago and think about all of the things we used to be able to do. Pictures from football games and homecoming.

We were able to go out and hug each other without a care in the world. We could sample each other’s drinks from the coffee shop without getting strange looks.

The typical school year schedule is no longer typical and I think we’re just worried about when life can go back to normal. When can we start being kids again?

I hope everyone had a wonderful week while enjoying the beautiful oncoming fall weather.
