GARFIELD COUNTY–Census 2020 has been extended through October 31, 2020, for those who have not attended to their form. Presently, sixty percent of Garfield County residents have returned their completed census forms.

It is imperative to complete your census form either online or the physical form and return it immediately. Funding for community programs in education, housing, transportation, health care and special programs for the aging depend significantly on the data collected through these forms.

In addition, Census data is used by businesses, governments, non-profits and civic organizations to inform decision-making. Washington State receives our federal funding based on the Census allocation to this State which is then redistributed on a funding formula within our State.

The 2010 Census was under reported which dramatically hurt Garfield County. The numbers did not accurately reflect the population here, therefore minimizing information for decisions and funding in this area. To avoid a horrific impact on this community as seen over the last ten years, provide your updated information.

Take this extended couple of weeks to do your part for your community and fill in your information and return your Census forms.

If you need assistance please call 509-843-3563.
