Wind lends to a difficult shoot

POMEROY–Weather again proved to be problematic for Pomeroy Gun Club members during the fifth week of the Camas Prairie 10 Week Shoot.

High winds hampered the Junior Shooters on Saturday and the Senior Shooters faced near Blizzard conditions at times on Sunday.

On Saturday, the 12-year-old and under shooters were led in singles by Peyton Cannon's score of 15, Carter Barron posted a 13. In Handicap Peyton had another 15 and Braxton McKeirnan managed a 13.

Sub Juniors were lead in singles by the 16 of Nick Hastings while Mason Garcia, Colby Ledgerwood, and Oliver Severs all put up scores of 15. In Handicap Hasting had a 19, Makenna Barron posted a 17 and Garcia had a 16.

The Juniors were led by the 23 of Junior Magill, a 22 by Caleb Barron, and Troy Steele had a 21. In Handicap Steele had another 21 to lead the field.

The Adults were led on Sunday by the perfect 25 by Clark Capwell in singles. Jeff Wade and Tracy Hanger missed only 1 target for 24s and Holly Ledgerwood, Larry Bunch, Wayne Tetrick, and Sean Beale all posted 23s. In Handicap Brian Bingman, Teirick, and Jeff Hannas had 23s, while Don Perrigin and Mason Blachly posted 22s.

Wayne Tetrick led the Continental Shooters with a 25 and did not have to shoot twice at any Target on his way. Justin Dixon had a 24, and Buck Geiger, Larry Bunch and Tracy Hanger had 22s.

Travis Ledgerwood led Doubles shooters for the second week in a row with a 44, While Buck Geiger, Larry Bunch and Tracy Hanger had 40s.

After four weeks, the Pomeroy Juniors remained in 8th place and the Adults slipped to 18th in the 24 Club Competition. Shooting will resume for the second half of the 10-week Tournament on next Saturday February 13.
