POMEROY–The third phase of the Low-and-Moderate Income (LMI) survey conducted by the Evergreen Rural Water of Washington (ERWoW) will begin Tuesday, May 4 between 5:30–7:30 p.m. and Wednesday morning if needed.

The LMI survey funded by the South Eastern Washington Economic Development Association (SEWEDA), City of Pomeroy, Garfield County and Port District of Garfield County which became available earlier this month on April 1, completed the first two phases; survey mailing to all residents followed by a reminder letter has been achieved, with a two-thirds response. The third phase is the door-to-door polling which will provide assistance to the remaining one third of the community who have not yet completed the survey. Two questions will be asked: (1) How many people in your household, and (2) based on your answer, is the annual household income above or below a specific figure.

In accordance with Washington State income survey guidelines, the information gleaned from the survey by the independent third-party organization ERWoW, will be confidential and only used to assess the overall financial position of the community which will determine eligibility to state and federal grants for infrastructure improvements, housing, and business development.
