No primary in Garfield County this go around

POMEROY–Registered voters in Garfield County will notice the absence of a primary ballot for this election cycle, due to no oppositional races for any one position. Voters can expect to receive a ballot for the upcoming General Election Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

All positions but one, Garfield County Hospital District Commissioner No. 1 position, are unopposed, defeating the purpose of holding a primary election. All who are running will appear on the general election ballot including Sherry Ledgerwood and Chris Herres, who are vying for that same position.

Those who will appear on the General Election-ballot are:

- James D. Harris, City of Pomeroy City Council Member No. 4;

- Susie Bowles, City Council Member No. 5;

- Terry. E. John, Garfield County Fire District No. 1 Commissioner No. 1;

- Sherry Ledgerwood, Hospital District Commissioner No. 1;

- Chris Herres Hospital District Commissioner No. 1;

- Erica Stallcop, Hospital District Commissioner No. 2;

- Matt Herres, Port District Commissioner 2;

- Larry J. Scoggin, Port Commissioner 3;

- Geremy D. Nelson, Pomeroy School District No. 110 Director No. 2;

- Kyle J. Pearson, Pomeroy School District No. 110 Director AL4;

- Jim Nelly, School Director No. 250, Position No. 4;

- Russ A. Davis, School Director No. 250, Position No. 5.
