POMEROY––Over the past year and five months, the United States and Canada mutually decided to close the 5,500-mile border in March, 2020, to help squelch the spread of COVID-19.

Since then, commerce from some types of trade, tourism, and family has severely affected both nations. Seeing the economic destruction of the shutdown between the neighboring countries, lawmakers, business owners, and other officials took their concerns to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to curtail the unrealistic lockdown and succeeded.

The good news came with the announcement that Canada will begin to reopen the border August 9, 2021, to fully vaccinated U.S. citizens and permanent residents who live in the United States for some discretionary travel only, then to all fully vaccinated foreigners on September 7, 2021.

But wait!

The Biden Administration stepped in to countermand the reopening as of August 21, 2021, to prevent exposure to the COVID variant.

What?

Really?

To the south of us, the border between the U. S. and Mexico is wide open to every person in the world, sick or not! What is the point of closing the border north of us but welcome with open arms to unvetted, undocumented, untested, illegal aliens through the southern border?

Biden is obviously pursuing any possible track to take the country back to masking through mandates and broad, sweeping shutdowns as it seeks to move our republic into a communistic regime. The mid-term elections cannot come soon enough.

Just a side note, according to my Google search, the new mutation of COVID-19, 614G, in comparison to the original strain, have higher viral loads in their nose and throat, though they don’t seem to get any sicker but are more contagious to others.

And headache, sore throat, runny nose, and fever are present based on the most recent surveys in the United Kingdom, where more than 90% of the cases are due to the Delta strain.

Biden joins a long line of leftists and Marxists (Kamala Harris) who gaslight the American people, telling the citizens of this proud country, that their common sense is betraying them, including Dr. Fauci, who does not follow CDC guidelines, but changes directions with whatever political wind is blowing.

What I see is total political opportunism from the Left.
