POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) met with local farmer Don Richardson to discuss the terms of a renewed lease for his family's radio tower at their meeting on August 9. The Richardson family has leased the tower to Garfield County for the Sheriff's and Road Crew radio.

Richardson came to request an increase in compensation for Pacific Power's sublease on the grounds that it is a private industry, as well as a section to address weed issues on the enclosed grounds. The BOCC will draft a second lease proposal that will address these issues.

Hollie Geiger has created Moppa's Cleaning Services LLC and is in the process of contracting with the BOCC to clean the Public Works building offices for $150 a week. Action on the contract will be taken at a later date.

The commissioners signed a resolution to increase the revolving fund for the Sheriff's Department from $500 to $1,000.

Inland Cellular delivered a quote of $5,149 for installing internet at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. This figure includes the $70 monthly charge. The system will have one gigabyte of internet, and the commissioners are considering adding a second gigabyte during the fair week.
