POMEROY–Pirate Ponies Equestrian Centre, operated by Tracy Burnstad and Lauren Setzer, is the newest local business to open recently, offering riding lessons for all ages.

Pirate Ponies Equestrian Centre (Pirate Ponies), located at 857 Main Street in Pomeroy, is a riding enterprise run by Burnstad and her co-planner Setzer, along with Burnstad's children Karl, Evelyn, Katie, and Kevin, all of whom are involved. The business started this spring and has shown an increase in interest and clientele.

Pirate Ponies offers riding lessons for children and adults, with the option to use a lesson horse or haul in a private mount. The business offers many opportunities for activities and camps for children and Burnstad anticipates offering horse training next year.

Burnstad's parents, Kevin and Rena Koller, have been in horse business for 44 years.
