Garfield County District Court–Judge Tom Cox

December 15, 2021

Allen J. Mendenhall, of Grandview, Wash., pleaded guilty to the gross misdemeanor offense of Driving While License Suspended 1st Degree. Mendenhall was sentenced to 15 days jail and will face further license suspension from the Dept. of Licensing.

Angela J. Reckard, of Pomeroy, pleaded guilty to the offense of Allowing an Unauthorized Driver to Drive and was fined $249.

Jeffrey R. Smith, of Olympia, pleaded guilty to the gross misdemeanor offense of Reckless Driving. Smith was sentenced to one day jail; must pay $1,271; must complete a substance abuse evaluation with treatment; and will face license suspension from the Dept. of Licensing.

December 16, 2021

Jeremiah J. Hessling, formerly of Pomeroy, pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor offenses of Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree. Hessling was sentenced to four days jail and must complete a substance abuse evaluation with treatment.


Garfield County Superior Court – Judge Brooke Burns

January 19, 2022

Brandon A. Bales, of Pomeroy, pleaded guilty to Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, class C felony. Bales was sentenced to 30 days electronic home monitoring; must pay $700 in legal financial obligations; and will be placed on 12 months Dept. of Corrections community custody.
