POMEROY–During the sixth Camas Prairie Shoot competition (CPSC) the Pomeroy Gun Club scores big, Brady Bott makes perfect score, and junior shooters move into seventh place, tying with Walla Walla.

The good weather resulted in very good scores for Pomeroy Gun Club during the sixth week of the CPSC this past weekend at the local Club. One of the highlights was Brady Bott’s first career perfect 25 score, the first of the year for the juniors, which led all the Youth shooters for the weekend. He was joined by Clark Capwell’s second straight 25 as well as a perfecto by Holly Ledgerwood for the first Ladies’ 25 of the year.

Caleb Barron posted a 23. The Juniors posted a score of 72 of a possible 75 that moved them into a tie with Walla Walla for 8th place in the 24 Club field. Caleb Barron had the high score in Handicap for the Juniors with a score of 21.

The sub-Junior under 12 years of age division leader in the 16-yard event was Carter Barron with a score of 20. Barron and Luke Collier were the top Handicap shooter with scores of 12.

In the sub-Junior older than 12 competition Braxton McKeirnan was the top shooter with a 24 and close behind were Mason Garcia and Ollie Severs with 23s.

The Pomeroy Juniors are in seventh place tying with Walla Walla.

The adult shooters flirted with perfection on Sunday, for the second week in a row with a 74.25 score of a possible 75. Brady Bott’s score was shot on Sunday which was included in the score counted for the Juniors and Adults.

The Adults had 39 shooters which required 4 scores of 25 to average 75 for the day. Shooters posting scores of 24 were Lee Blachly, Larry Bunch, Robert Des Jardin, Buck Geiger, Tracy Hanger, Lee Koller, Bryan McKeirnan, and Wayne Tetrick.

In Adult Handicap Sean Beale and Jim Adams posted scores of 24 to lead the field. Larry Bunch, Lee Koller, and Pearl Blachly all had scores of 23. In Continentals Wayne Tetrick had the first 25 for the Club this year, while Clark Capwell and Buck Geiger were one back with scores of 24. Geiger also had the top Score in Doubles with a 47 of a possible 50, Larry Bunch posted a 45 and Travis Ledgerwood put a 44 on the scoreboard.

The Senior Club is in twelfth place after six weeks in the 24 Club Camas Prairie Field.

Shooting will resume next weekend for Week seven at the Pataha range. The Camas Prairie registered shoot will be in five weeks from March 17-20.

Colton Gun Club has a registered shoot this Saturday, February 19, with 300 Targets offered. There will be 100 each of singles, Handicap and Doubles. Shooting will commence at 9 a.m.
