Volunteers needed for spring clean-up

March 24, 2022

POMEROY–Volunteers are needed for the Garfield County Aging and Disability Annual Yard Clean-up scheduled to help the aging and disabled community on April 9.

Spring is upon us and for people who are unable and/or need help with their spring yard clean-up, Aging and Disability is asking for volunteers to help provide assistance with this task.

The day will begin at 9 a.m. on April 9 where volunteers will meet at the Senior Center to receive their assignments. Volunteers are asked to provide their own tools (rakes, hoes, brooms, shovels, etc.) and gloves. Plastic bags will be provided by Aging and Disability.

“We generally care for about 15 yards on this day, said Rachel Anderson, Aging and Disability, so need volunteers to help manage the cleaning details for each of them.”

In addition, the Garfield County yard debris pit will be open that day and will need vehicles to transport yard waste.

Those who need help with their yard clean-up should reserve a spot on the schedule by April 8, 2022. Please contact Rachel Anderson at 509-843-3563.

Anderson also indicated pizza will be served to nourish the volunteers.
