Sharon Rose Jensen

August 25, 1941–March 18, 2022

A bell rang in heaven on March 18, 2022 and Sharon Rose Jensen, 80, of Pomeroy, Wash., passed away peacefully at Garfield County Memorial Hospital in Pomeroy, Wash. She was surrounded by her husband Bruce Jensen, two sisters and a brother at the time of her death. Her life on earth has ended and she has begun her time in eternity with family, friends and her Lord and Savior.

Sharon was born August 25, 1941, in Raymond, Wash. to Earl Jay Johnson and Esther Thelma (Thomas) Johnson. She attended school in Raymond, Wash., and Oroville, Wash. She and Bruce were married at the Evangelical Church in Moses Lake, Wash., on December 7, 1973.

She and her beloved husband, Bruce, lived in Spokane their entire married life until September, 2020, when they moved to Pomeroy to live in a small town and be closer to family. Sharon enjoyed the small-town friendliness and being where the deer grazed in their front yard. She particularly enjoyed being able to see the stars at night in Pomeroy, away from the lights of the city.

Simply said, Sharon loved family, friends, learning and antiques. Sharon worked at Old National Bank in Seattle as a teller and also at Old National Bank in Spokane. She took bookkeeping classes at Spokane Community College.

Sharon was co-owner of an antique store, Cobblestone Antiques, in Spokane. She particularly liked the Victorian Era pieces and antique Christmas ornaments.

In addition, Sharon enjoyed growing flowers, rock collecting, bead work and crocheting. One of her favorite pastimes was having coffee and visiting with family and friends.

"It's a Wonderful Life" was one of her favorite movies and she loved hearing bells ring. Pomeroy was the perfect place for her to hear the church bells.

Sharon was loved by friends and family and was a sweet kind of lady liked by all she met. Her sense of humor contributed to many laughs during family gatherings. We will miss our sweet sister, aunt and friend and Bruce will miss his sweetheart.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Esther Johnson, sisters Charlotte and Sunshine, nephew Jimmy and stepson, Richard.

She is survived by brothers, Gary (Barbara) of Livingston, Tex., and Phillip of Oroville, Wash; sisters are Patti (Jack) Weaver, Pomeroy Wash., Joyce (Keith) Edie of Mattawa, Wash., and Ruby of Moses Lake, Wash. She is also survived by and loved her many nieces and nephews and their families: Cicily and Teena Johnson, Keith and Karl Edie, Victor, Ricky, and Thomas Didra, Andrew and Angel Johnson and Jay and Leilani Weaver.

She loved and is also survived by her stepchildren, Ronnie, Rosemarie, Bruce and Roger as well as many extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Garfield County Memorial Hospital where she received compassionate and professional care.

We are grateful to the physicians, nurses, CNAs, kitchen staff, housekeeping, lab and those who stopped by to visit. She could not have received better care anywhere else. May you all be blessed for your kindness!

May you rest in peace until we meet again, Sharon. Always you will be in our hearts.
