WALLA WALLA–Lady Pirate golfer Chase Caruso again came out on the top of the heap here April 19, besting an extensive, 120-player field from 1B, 2B and 1A schools. Reggie Ott led the Pirate boys in the 18-hole match at Veterans Memorial Golf Course.

Caruso was the Pirate Golf Team’s sole top-ten finisher, taking first with 87 strokes.

“As usual, Chase was steady all day with 43 on the front nine and 44 on the back,” commented Coach Al Damron. “An 87 was a great score considering cold wet and windy conditions.”

Reggie Ott carded a 99 for the Pirate boys, Damron said. Other Pomeroy players included Grayson Slaybaugh-107, Jett Slusser-109, Brady Bott-118, Elena Morfin-129, and Cesar Morfin-154.

Eighth grader Grayson Slaybaugh beat his previous low score by nine strokes and Elena Morfin’s 129 was excellent for her first time in an 18-hole event, Damron said.
