Letters to the Editor

To the editor,

Recently, I went to Garfield County Hospital’s Emergency Department for a respiratory issue. It was a Sunday afternoon, and after being let in, I was immediately treated by two nurses, one of whom called the on-call provider, Courtney Travis, ARNP. Courtney was there within a matter of minutes, and the nurse had already started me on a nebulizer to assist with my breathing. She introduced herself, asked pertinent questions, and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Not long afterwards, I was feeling better, and was released with instructions about further care and instructions to follow up with my primary physician. The entire experience from start to finish was professional, caring, and competent.

I am so grateful that our little town has this Emergency Department. This is the first time I’ve ever had to use this service, but knowing it is there is a comfort to me. I felt like I was in good hands and got the care that I needed; had I needed additional care, I have no doubt that the providers and staff could have handled that with the same competency and care.

I appreciate the Garfield County Hospital for its faithful service to the community.
