District Champion Chase Caruso and teammates Brady Bott, Jett Slusser and Kiersten Bartels, who went as an alternate, golfed at the State Tournament as this edition went to press. State matches in 2020 and 2021 were not held due to the pandemic.

DEER PARK–As this edition goes to press, Pomeroy's Golf Team will be on the links, competing-State Golf Tournament at Ridgefield Golf Course here on May 24-25.

"There is always the potential for success," commented Head Coach Al Damron. "Chase should place high and both boys have been playing better lately, so we are hopeful."

District Champion Chase Caruso headed to the first state match since 2019 earlier this week with a string of match victories to her name. Last year, Caruso finished atop a 22-woman field at Cle Elum's Prospector Golf Course. Due to pandemic restrictions, that's as far as the post-season went, cutting it short by three weeks.

In 2019, Caruso tied for 14th with a 175 on 18 holes.

Bott and Slusser golfed at the District match in 2021, Slusser, as an eighth grader, shooting a 98 to finish in seventh place and Bott finishing in a tie for 21st.
