POMEROY–The Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum (EWAM) board read a letter from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA), Southeast Washington Resource Advisory Committee; handled bill paying, accepted membership update, and acknowledged donations at the June 19 meeting.

The USDA, Southeast Washington Resource Advisory Committee is looking for some nominees to serve on the committee.

The board approved payments to Meyers Hardware, David Ruark, Pomeroy Grain Growers, and Roy Wold.

One new member, three renewals and $50 in memorial funds. In addition, two bird houses sold, two ballcaps and $42 from the donation jars during Pioneer Days. Twenty-five visitors toured the museum during Pioneer days.

Holly Holman of Spokane, Wash., donated eleven hit and miss engines plus some boxes of loose items, all in good condition, in honor of her late brother Carney Holman. More pictures have been donated to EWAM by Alynda Benson.

In other business, Jay Fitzgerald is looking into the process of getting permanent signage; a Winona bulk grain wagon has been offered; the board decided to decline the International T-40 tractor in St. John at this time. It will be discussed again after the forklift is completed.

Tours were given to the wife and grandson of the late and donor John Robison; a Harvest Host couple and Gena Severson’s in-laws.

There is a plan to repair the T1-11 siding of building No. 2.

A comment was made due to some trouble getting some equipment running or to keep them running, the EWMA did not enter anything in the Pioneer Day parade. However, Jerry Wilsey had quite a few tractors entered which people enjoyed.
