XC competes in Clarkston

CLARKSTON–Two P.H.S. harriers competed at the Clarkston Invitational, finishing back in the pack in the first outing of the season.

Finishing in 51st place was Cash Copher, with teammate Samuel Lamb close behind in 52nd place. Copher's time was 26:00.73 with Lamb around 24 seconds later at 26:24.58 in the 5k race. Reid Headrick of Medical Lake won the 57-entry race with a 16:33.5 time.

"Our athletes ran a great race running the park and up and down the hill along the Clarkston Greenbelt," commented Head Coach Greg Sharp.

Seventh grader Oscar Dispenza came in 13th with a time of 10:00.37, in the 3,000 m. Middle School course. First was Lucas Clements of Lewiston, 8:08.82, ahead of 56 others.

The next meet is Sept. 20 at Liberty-Spangle.
