CTA building project estimated to cost $1.5 million

December 22, 2022

POMEROY–The Garfield County Transportation Authority (CTA) board changed a position from an hourly to a salaried pay schedule, and received updates on ongoing projects at their meeting on December 19.

The pay schedule for the position of Operations Manager was changed from hourly to salaried, meaning that pay for the number of hours scheduled between paydays will be averaged so that the amount will be consistent between paychecks. The amount of hours scheduled and the wages remain the same.

The CTA board received updates on the building project and a replacement van. The building has been estimated to cost about $1,500,000, including teardown costs and hardware for a potential electric bus charger. The charger itself is not included in the estimate. A possible grant opportunity for the project has an application due date of January 10.

The replacement van, whose purchase order was placed in July and had a possible delivery date in 2024, has been built and is currently at Joe Hall Ford in Lewiston, Idaho, where final modifications are being completed. Obtainment of the title is causing a delay, but is expected to be resolved without trouble.
