Magill and Ledgerwood shoot perfect scores

POMEROY–Local shooters Barron Magill and Travis Ledgerwood managed a couple of perfect 25X25 scores in the 16-yard event during the fifth scheduled Camas Prairie Competition Shoot, which is the score that counts towards the 10-week rankings.

The Pomeroy Gun Club was greeted by breezy, sometimes wet conditions during week five, the half way point, of the 2023 Camas Prairie competition, but still achieved some good scores.

In the week's 12-year-old and under competition. Carter Barron was the top shooter with a 24 in in the 16-yard event. Luke Collier managed a score of 20.

Carter Barron also had an 18, as did Rowdy Cole in the 12 and under Handicap. Sub Junior Gunner Magill had a perfect 25 in that 16-yard. event which was one of two perfect scores by the entire club on the weekend. Gunner completed a good weekend with the top Score in Handicap with a 23. Isaac Coon was close behind Magill with a 22 in that event. In the Junior Division 16-yard. competition Colby Ledgerwood, Ollie Severs and Mason Garcia put up scores of 23 and Brodie Magill had a 22. Brodie and Colby had the top Handicap scores of 22 while Severs and Nick Hastings posted a pair of 21s.


In Adult competition Travis Ledgerwood posted the only perfect 25 for the day in the 16 yd. competition. Brian Bingman, Buck Geiger, Clark Capwell, Josh Hames, Sean Beale and Wayne Tetrick all missed only one for scores of 24.

In Adult Handicap Lance Frederick, Thomas Warren, and Holly Ledgerwood had the top scores of 24. Three shooters posted perfect 25s in Continentals. The list included Junior Brady Bott along with Adults Brian Bingman and James Adams. Travis Ledgerwood, Terry John, Richard Madden and Clark Capwell all had scores of 24.

Travis Ledgerwood completed a good day with a 47X50 in Doubles. Buck Geiger and Tracy Hanger had scores of 44 in the Doubles event.

After five weeks the Pomeroy adults are in sixth place behind Weiser, Idaho; Orofino-Pierce; Colton; Wallace-Kellogg; and Hermiston. The Pomeroy Seniors are six targets behind Weiser who is perfect for the year. The Pomeroy Juniors are in second place in the completion eight targets behind leader Hermiston, Ore.

Week six will begin for Juniors Saturday February 11 at 8:00 a.m., and February 12 for Adults starting at 9 a.m.
