POMEROY–The Port of Garfield County commissioners discussed a delay in the Pataha fiber internet project, an expense authorization, and a wage increase at their meeting on February 7.

A meter on the fiber project that needs to be inspected by Pacific Power & Light has caused a delay. The project is now expected to be operational by the end of February.

The Port commissioners approved an expense authorization for the fiber cabinet that will house the Pataha fibers. The cost of the cabinet is $17,986.65, and is fully reimbursable through the grant from the Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) that has funded the Pataha project.

The Port commissioners also approved a raise for temporary part time employees, to remain above minimum wage.
