The Pirates reached the state playoffs, and open Tuesday, Feb. 21, in Pomeroy against the Muckleshoot Tribal School, at 7 p.m. Pirate Brodie Magill (24) battled through heavy traffic in action from Pomeroy's 51-39 win over Oakesdale in Dayton February 17.

POMEROY-Due to an increased number of 1B basketball teams this season, the WIAA is instituting a 20-team bracket in which the last eight RPI teams play loser-out games for the opportunity to advance to the second round, according the Toddette McGreevy, Pomeroy A.D.

The Pirate boys are RPI No. 15, and they will play the Muckleshoot Tribal School, No. 18, in the Pomeroy gym at 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 21.

If Pomeroy wins Tuesday, they will advance to a Saturday, February 25 game at No. 10 Mount Vernon Christian at Mt. Vernon High School. Tip off will be at 12 noon. This is also a loser-out game, one of eight Second-Round games being played at various sites across the state.

If the Pirates win both games, they advance to the Spokane Arena Round of 12, which begins Wednesday, March 1.

Admission to the First Round game in Pomeroy will be $12 for adults, $9 for students with ASB card and Senior Citizens.
