The Jr. Hi. Wrestling team traveled to Jenifer MS in Lewiston Feb. 15 where we matched up with Orofino, Moscow, Potlatch, Dayton/Waitsburg, and Jenifer MS.

The team had several great matches, said Coach Fred Knebel. "Chance Savage had another great night where he pinned his first opponent in ten seconds," Knebel said. "Lincoln Lovgren pinned both of his opponents in the second round. Lincoln is on a three-win run right now.

James Blachly wrestled hard and was inches away from winning his only match of the night," the coach said. "He is improving and the 'W' is going to happen!"

Jackson Hutchens pinned his first opponent in the first round, this was his first match after being sick for over a week, Knebel said.

Jess Winona pinned his only opponent of the night in the second period after going up by a score of 7-0. Jess missed the last meet due to illness. "Jess is an extremely physically strong sixth grader!" Knebel said.

Kole Zimmerman won his only match of the night by a third-round pin after being up by a score of 17-4. "Kole continues to be the leader of the team in many aspects," he said.

Savage pinned Bauer and was pinned by Godfrey 1st, Lovgren pinned Musser 2nd, pinned Poachmann 2nd, Zimmerman pinned Lane 3rd, Blachly was pinned by Storm, Hutchens pinned Gibbs 1st, was pinned by Drake-Weiss, Winona pinned Collier 2nd.

The team traveled to Lincoln MS in Clarkston Feb. 8 where we matched up with Clear Water Valley, Dayton/Waitsburg, Clarkston, and Jenifer MS.

Several wrestlers stayed home due to sickness.

Chance Savage had a great night where he pinned both opponents, excellent for a sixth grader, Knebel said. Lincoln Lovgren pinned his only opponent of the night very fast and is improving every week. James Blachly wrestled hard but came up short in both matches after recovering from an ankle injury.

Kole Zimmerman lost his first match by decision, Knebel said, but came back for a pin against his second opponent. "I am proud of Kole for coming back strong after a defeat, that shows me a lot of maturity!" the coach said.

Savage pinned Porterfield 2nd and pinned Samuels 1st, Lovgren pinned Cooper 1st, Zimmerman was Dec. 21-10, pinned Trubee 2nd, Blachly was pinned by Griffen, was pinned by Palmer 1st.
