Many visitors travel great distances to partake in the annual St. Patrick's Day Broomstick Pool at the Spinner's Maple Hall. Teams will begin qualifying on Friday, March 17, then it'll be peanut shells on the floor, food, socializing, and spectating the tournament on Saturday, March 18.

POMEROY–The Pomeroy Spinners' Saint Patrick's Day tradition of Broomstick Pool at Maple Hall is fast approaching. Qualifying begins on March 17 at 6 p.m. Doors open for peanuts on the floor and games on March 18 at 11 a.m. New, changing or existing team placement must qualify on Friday, March 17 at 6 p.m.

Any team that lost the first two games, is changing partners, or is a new team wanting to participate needs to qualify on Friday night, March 17 beginning at 6 p.m. Doors will open around 5 p.m., and Saturday at 11 a.m. Participants who have not signed up to qualify or have not confirmed a spot for Saturday's competition are urged to do so as soon as possible. Teams need to register by contacting Tanner Cranor at: [email protected] or 509-629-2948.

Spinners will be serving beverages and food items at Maple Hall both Friday and Saturday night. Food items for 2023 are hamburgers, cheeseburgers, nachos, and on Saturday only, pulled pork sandwiches. Don't forget the peanuts..."Shells" on the floor are part of the tradition!


Saturday game day festivities begin at noon. All teams making it into Saturday's round need to be at the hall for announcements, paying entry fees, etc., at 12 p.m. All participant will play one game before going on to the second round.

Everyone can come down for a meal, socialize, catch up with people you haven't seen in years, and observe.
