Electric vehicles deemed unfeasible for Garfield County

POMEROY–The Garfield County Transportation Authority (CTA) discussed electric vehicles and a rider incident at their meeting on April 17.
In view of the hilly terrain in Garfield County, as well as the extremes to which the temperatures can swing from over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer to below zero degrees in the winter, the CTA deemed electric vehicles to be unfeasible. At the present time, the CTA will not entertain the purchase of any electric van.
An incident with a rider occurred during which the rider was aggressive and directed foul language at the driver. This incident was a repeated offense and the CTA determined that the rider would not be allowed to ride any longer.
