BURBANK–Javelin thrower Reuben Yutzy was the sole Dayton-Waitsburg Track and Field team member to qualify for the state tournament in Yakima, the junior sprinter, jumper and thrower placing fourth.

Yutzy and the DW track and field team competed at the EWAC District meet here Tuesday, May 16, with several Wolfpack athletes setting personal records. He advances to the State Championships for 1B, 2B and 1A schools at Eisenhower High School, Yakima, May 25-27.

Yutzy also finished sixth in the 100m. in 12.10 and sixth in the high jump at 5-4.

DW men were 10th with 13½ points and the women were 11th with eight.
