Pirate golfers Brady Bott and Chase Caruso capped their senior golf seasons by winning district championships. Bott carded a career-best 171 and Caruso came in with a 177.

CLARKSTON–Seniors Chase Caruso and Brady Bott both won individual District championships at the Southeast 1B District Golf Tournament on Thursday at Red Wolf Golf Club in Clarkston. The two Pirate golfers advanced to the State 1B Golf Tournament at Tumwater Valley Golf Club in Tumwater, Wash., Tuesday and Wednesday, May 23-24.

Caruso wrapped up her prep career with a two-day total of 177 and her third District title, said Pirate Golf Head Coach Al Damron. She intends to attend and golf for Lewis Clark State College as she continues her education.

Bott shot a career-best 177 to end up atop the field among the men golfers, Damron said.

Freshman Grayson Slaybaugh barely missed the cut with a total of 205, Damron said, and sophomore Kiersten Bartels finished six strokes out with 228, and Elena Morfin finished with 235.

"We are so proud of these kids they all competed hard and played with dignity and pride," Damron said.
