A Teen's Take

October 3, 2019

POMEROY–Many of you probably have siblings. I have a little brother, and he can be such a pain. It’s a weird thing about having siblings. There are times you want to ship them off in the mail, yet at other times you just can’t wait for them to get home. That’s how I feel about my little brother. It’s weird, I know, but most of the time, I can’t wait for him to come home from football so I can help him with a school assignment or activity.

I think the whole “love–hate” relationship thing was inspired by siblings. Honestly, my brother and I have the best inside jokes. My best friend and I have some pretty good ones too, but they will never compare to the ones I have with my little brother.

Being a big sister has its challenges as well and to be honest not much fun, sometimes. Literally just having a younger sibling is enough to annoy you. They constantly bother you and when you actually want to talk to them, they talk about things that you have no interest in. However, being the oldest has its perks too. You know more stuff and can help younger siblings when they struggle, give them advice on how to handle certain situations and set a good example for them to follow. If I think about it, I’m very thankful for my little brother, even if he is a pest at times.

I hope everyone had a great week and is enjoying the chilly weather.
