Teachers were seated at assigned tables accompanied by chairs for parents and students to sit and discuss the student's progress. At one end of the gym, pictured here are some of the teachers, including Laura Womack (back) and Tammy Damras (center), speaking to parents, and Kyle Kimble (front) talking to Principal Amy Miller.

POMEROY-The 2019 fall High School parent-teacher conferences were held at the gymnasium in arena-style for the first time. Tables were arranged around the gym floor for each teacher. Parents were invited to come visit with teachers on Wednesday, October 30, from 2–7 p.m. and on Thursday, October 31 from 12:30–4 p.m. No appointed times were necessary. This gave parents the opportunity to talk to each of the teachers at one location and at one time.

High School Principal Amy Miller said that the turnout of parents was significantly better with the new arrangement and felt that the new style of conferences was a great success.

Incentives were offered to encourage attendance at the conferences, such as snack items and an opportunity to obtain entries from each teacher for a raffle drawing prize, to be awarded after conferences. Student report cards and state testing assessment results were also available to parents at the conferences.
