Two applicants to receive conditional offers

November 5, 2020

POMEROY–Jim Nelson, reporting for the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, informed the Garfield County Commissioners (BOCC) of two deputy applicants who will receive conditional offers, pending background checks.

A letter to the Shepherd Foundation was signed by the commissioners, which included four requests for the County, and one for the Garfield County Fire District.

Justin Dixon, County Commissioner, advised that the installation of the new Courtroom Sound System has incurred “a little more expense” than originally estimated.

The McKinstry “walk through” of the Courthouse HVAC System, scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2020, was postponed due to other obligations for McKinstry, and has not been set for a future date yet, but is expected to occur the week of November 9, 2020.

Dixon reported that the Port of Garfield received bids for construction of the broadband fiber network extension to the fairgrounds, and all bids came in less than what was budgeted. The process is moving along nicely, and will hopefully meet the deadline of December 31, 2020.

The next meeting of the BOCC will be Monday, November 9, 2020, at 9 a.m. The public is invited to attend the meeting by teleconference.
