Community Thanksgiving dinner will be take-out thanks to coronavirus

November 19, 2020

POMEROY–Spinners is again hosting a Community Thanksgiving at Maple Hall on November 26 between 12-1 p.m. However, COVID has made us all rethink how we do things and with the recent spike in numbers within our community, dinner will be served up differently.

Thanksgiving will be prepared in the traditional way, only this year a limited Spinners crew will cook the meal at Maple Hall. Because of the shutdown, there will be no seating or dining at Maple Hall, instead people wishing to receive a meal will come to Maple Hall between 12-1 p.m., on Thanksgiving Day to pick-up their feast. Upon driving up to Maple Hall, we ask you wait in your car until a Spinners member comes to the door to invite the next person in to pick up their meals.

Delivery is also available for those who feel sick, have symptoms, are isolating due to direct exposure, or you are physically not able to come to the Maple Hall, deliveries will be available for home-bound people. Deliveries will be made before noon or after 1 p.m. All deliveries will be a no contact experience–knock on the door and leave the meals.

It is very important to RSVP as soon as possible. Please send your RSVP to Joe Cox at [email protected] or text message 509-294-1238. If you don't have email or text messaging, please call 509-294-1238, then follow up with a written RSVP so no one is missed.

Dinner is free, however donations will be accepted and appreciated. Spinners would like to extend our great appreciation to the Shepherd Foundation for the continued support of this event and the Spinners. May the Lord bless you and yours!
