Alleged early morning assault ends in arrest

POMEROY–Garfield County Sheriff's Office took into custody a male suspect, Tristan Charles Evans, 23, who was booked for Assault in the 1st degree, a class A felony, on February 4, 2021.

Law enforcement personnel from the Garfield County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of an assault in the city of Pomeroy early Thursday morning, February 4.

An unidentified male victim in his 40s was transported to the Garfield County Hospital District by emergency medical technicians from Garfield County Fire District No. 1. The victim was later transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Id.

Upon investigation, it was determined that a male suspect, identified as Evans, had allegedly assaulted the victim and fled the scene in the victim's 1982 Toyota pickup. Clarkston Police Department, Asotin County Sheriff's Office, and Washington State Patrol located the vehicle and suspect in the city of Clarkston.

The suspect was taken into custody and the vehicle was impounded. The suspect was booked into the Garfield County Jail.
