POMEROY–The Garfield County Commissioners (BOCC) approved funding for a golf cart path project on city-owned property at the Crystal Springs Golf Course. The county will match costs with the City of Pomeroy up to $10,000 this year. Construction will start as soon as possible. Planned improvements include a jersey barrier border along part of the way to stop the bank from sloughing into the path.

The BOCC has proclaimed National Public Safety Tele Communicator's Week as April 11-17 at the meeting on April 12, 2021. The BOCC extended their gratitude to the Garfield County Tele Communication staff. "I know what they do for us," Commissioner Jim Nelson said. "They have our praises and appreciation."

Resolutions 2021-09 and 2021-10 were passed, validating inventory from 2019 and 2020 respectively. The inventory is compiled from the county department head reports by Donna Deal, BOCC clerk. "It includes everything from office supplies to equipment," Deal said.

Construction is almost finished on the water leak on the right side of the Garfield County Courthouse. The source of the leak was a broken gutter line and caused less damage than expected to the ground structure, according to Garfield County Engineer Grant Morgan. The new concrete is rated at 4,000psi and pavement will be laid down as soon as the concrete cures.

Commissioner Justin Dixon expressed his satisfaction with the success of the Spring Jackpot Show, held at the fairgrounds on Saturday, April 10, 2021. "It was well attended and well run," Dixon said. He projects the show will become a large event, drawing customers for local businesses.
