BOCC approves Interlocal cooperation agreement

April 22, 2021

POMEROY–The Garfield County Commissioners (BOCC) approved the interlocal agreement between Whitman and Garfield counties during the April 19 meeting.

The signed and affirmed Interlocal cooperation agreement allows the two counties to work for and bill each other. The agreements are also in place with several surrounding counties, County Engineer Grant Morgan said. Road crews patched potholes last week, and will continue this week.

Road Maintenance Chief Rod Norland encouraged any reports of issues. "If there are any issues with the patches, now's the time to speak up." Norland said. A plan to engage a voice over internet phone system county-wide is being discussed, with an all-department-head meeting to hear input and answer questions planned. No date has been set for this meeting.

Blue Mountain Community Foundation has matched grants received from the Harold and Helen Shepherd Foundation and private donors as part of the All in Washington Match.

The BOCC held an executive session to evaluate an employee after their public meeting. No motion was brought forth at the end.
