Jr. High Track Results

Evan Thomas was one of the few athletes that placed in four separate events at a recent junior high meet. He ran in all three long distance races and placed in all, impressive for any athlete and even more so for a sixth grader participating in his first-ever track meet, said Coach Adam Van Vogt. Boys who placed (top 8 score points): Boone Schmidt-3rd in the 200 (29.45) and 5th in the 100 (14.24); Matthew Lamb- 8th in the 75 meter dash (14.56); Evan Thomas-5th in the 400 (1:15), 6th in the 800 (3:12), and 5th in the 1600 (6:50), and tied for 5th in high jump (3’10”); Ishmael Artega-5th in shot put (22’2”); Greg Weatherspoon-6th in discus (54’10”); Braxton Mckiernan-tied for 2nd in high jump (4’2”) and 2nd in pole vault (7’); Levi Bowen-tied for 2nd in high jump (4’2”) and 3rd in pole vault (6’6’). Boy’s 4x100 Relay- 3rd (1:01.9) Robby Van Vogt, Braxton McKiernan, Levi Bowen, and Boone Schmidt. Girls who placed (top 8 score points): Carmen Fruh- 1st in pole vault (5’) and 4th in the 75 meter dash (12.56); and Sophia Phelps- 6th in the 200 (39.75).
