FFA Alumni scholarships awarded to graduating seniors and homeschool student

Westelle Scoggin left, was among six others awarded the FFA Alumni scholarships at the FFA awards ceremony held during the Pomeroy High School assembly. The other recipients are Logan Ledgerwood, Carson Zimmerman, Emma Severs, Tyson Kimble, Josie Zimmerman, and McKenzie Watko.

POMEROY–Homeschool and Walla Walla Community College 2021 graduate, Westelle Scoggin was awarded FFA Alumni scholarships, and the Bill Wolf Memorial scholarship at the FFA awards ceremony June 4.

Kyle Kimble, Pomeroy FFA Chapter Advisor, handed out scholarships awarded by the Pomeroy FFA Alumni, including several memorial scholarships, at the FFA awards ceremony during morning assembly at Pomeroy High School on June 4.

The recipients are senior FFA members Tyson Kimble, awarded $1800 in scholarships including the Brent Koller and Larry Wilson memorial scholarships; homeschool student and four year member of the Pomeroy FFA Chapter Westelle Scoggin $1600 including the Bill Wolf memorial scholarship; Logan Legerwood $1250 including the Elton Brown and Janine Ledgerwood memorial scholarships, Carson Zimmerman $1100 including the Roger Koller memorial scholarship McKenzie Watko $300, Josie Zimmerman $300, and Emma Severs $300. In total the Alumni gave out $6650 in scholarship money.

Scholarship money was raised through events like the Miss Piggy Raffle at the Garfield County Fair and the New Year's Eve Auction, and individual donations from community members.
