POMEROY––A local resident was injured and taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston after a single-car rollover east of here Monday afternoon, July 19.

Faith L. Norris, 56, of Pomeroy, received injuries when the vehicle in which she was a passenger, a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, was westbound on Highway 12 ten miles east of Pomeroy at 12:46 p.m., left the roadway to the right and rolled, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Driver James D. Scott, 70, also of Pomeroy, did not receive injuries and was cited for Negligent Driving-Second Degree, according to the WSP report. The cause of the accident was the driver falling asleep, the report indicated.

Neither person in the vehicle were wearing seat belts.

The vehicle was totaled.

On July 11, two people were injured in a single-car rollover in Garfield County, 30 miles east of Dayton at 2:23 p.m.

The 2005 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Bryce E. Brenner, 31, Clarkston, Wash., was westbound on Highway 12 when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled. A passenger, April D. Gray, 47, of Walla Walla, was also injured. Both were transported to St. Joseph’s.

Charges are pending on the driver, the State Patrol indicated, and use of seatbelts was unknown. The vehicle was totaled.

On July 6, a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer rolled when its driver lost control on State Highway 127 18 miles north of Pomeroy, the State Patrol reported.

Bruce D. Affolter, 42, of Walla Walla, was injured and transported to St. Joseph in the 8:27 a.m. mishap. The vehicle left the roadway, rolled and came to rest on its wheels. The driver was cited for Negligent Driving-Second Degree and no insurance. He was wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle received reportable damage and was towed by Kyle’s Towing of Dayton.
