Discussion continues on Transportation Authority's proposed facility

September 23, 2021

POMEROY–The Garfield County Transportation Authority (CTA) made the decision during the September 20 meeting, to design building options for the new bus garage, wash racks and office.

The CTA continued their ongoing discussion about building options at their meeting on September 20. After circling through several options that didn’t meet with satisfaction, they decided that the board will design building options and present them at the next meeting.

Up to now, CTA manager Rachel Anderson and County Engineer Grant Morgan have been putting together the designs. The current idea is that the Public Works Office will have some changes put in and be expanded to include wash racks and bus storage for the CTA, as well as some office space. Coming up with a place that satisfies both departments is proving to be an involved process.

A public hearing was held on the CTA’s six-year transit development plan. No public comment was brought forth.
