Fire District receives grant to replace hoses

September 23, 2021

POMEROY–The Garfield County Fire District (GCFD) approved a resolution to modify the 2021 budget to include an Assistance to Firefighters Grant for $89,000 at their meeting on September 14. The grant will be used to replace old hoses, some of which are decades old. A second grant, Staffing to Adequate Fire and Emergency Response, will go into effect starting in 2022. It is for $65,312.38, with a $3,500 match from the GCFD.

The Lick Creek Fire is 100% contained, and the Green Ridge Fire is no longer threatening and GCFD protected property.

GCFD has two volunteers enrolled in an Emergency Medical Technician training class at Lewis Clark State College, Colton Slaybaugh and Anna Dinsmore.
