As a lifelong resident of Garfield County, many of you know I occupy the majority of my time as president of my family's farm, Herres Land Company. With the support of my son, I primarily produce wheat, barley, canola, and alfalfa hay; however, I can also add market cattle to the list of local commodities. I am a current active member of the Holy Rosary Parish Counsel, a recorder for the Knights of Columbus, and the secretary for the Garfield County Hospital District. I am associated with the Garfield County Cattlemen's Association as a current member and previous president, the Washington Cattlemen's Association, the Washington Wheat Growers, the Washington Farm Bureau, the Pomeroy FFA Alumni, and was a previous Pomeroy Grange Supply board member. Lastly, I have previously assisted with the Garfield County Livestock Market Sale, Junior Livestock Show of Spokane and was a past 4-H leader.

As a tax paying landowner and current hospital board member, I hold a particular advantage, with dual perspective, when it comes to the support and continuation of our local hospital district. I have recognized the need for their services as well as the required support received from the community. I have been appointed as the Garfield County Hospital Board Secretary of Commissioners since 2016, when the struggle to remain was factual. Like others, I was selected to help navigate towards the more sustainable future we have come to know. The Board of Directors, while working alongside our dedicated hospital staff, have overcome adversity and together we have established the positive change seen within the hospital district today. When reappointed it will continue to be my goal to hear the voice of the community and ensure it is valued while continuing to navigate financial challenges and personnel shortages within the district.

Without the continue support from the community and our hardworking staff, our hospital district would not be where we are today.
