Carmen Fruh, left, was presented the September Student of the Month Pirates Award by LCCU sponsor representative Sherri Ledgerwood. Her nominating teacher Nettie Severs considers Carmen to be independent, dependable and kind.

POMEROY–The September 2021 Student of the Month Pirates Award was presented by sponsor Lewis Clark Credit Union (LCCU) to Carmen Fruh for her independent and respectful nature.

Carmen participates in basketball and takes advantage of the tutorial help at school to manage her school work, showing the Pride she has for her school, team members and fellow student peers.

Being a self-starter, Carmen maintains her Independence by taking the initiative to follow directions accurately and fully.

Being kind, caring and helpful demonstrates her great Respect she has for her peers and adults. Carmen has a positive Attitude and willingness to learn new things. She can be counted on to make good choices, and doing the right thing credits her Trustworthiness.

Carmen demonstrates Effort through her willingness to come in before school to get extra help when needed so she can do and show her very best work.

Her greatest asset is her ability to show Kindness to her classmates through lending a helping hand.
