County Auditor's Office to change transaction hours

POMEROY–The Garfield County Commissioners' heard changes occurring in the Auditor's Office, approved Resolution 2021-22 and 2021-23, and signed an inter-local agreement with Columbia County at their meeting December 6, 2021.

County Auditor Mackenzie Lueck announced the Garfield County Auditor's Office will be changing their Department of Licensing (DOL) transaction hours While the office will remain open on their current schedule of 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m., no DOL transactions will be processed after 4:30 p.m. This change is occurring to allow the office to close promptly and the employees to maintain their normal work hours. The schedule change will begin December 27.

The BOCC approved Resolution 2021-22, a modification to the county's Anti-Harassment Policy that includes domestic violence in the workforce as part of the harassments that the county will not tolerate. They also approved Resolution 2021-23, which changes the public records fee schedule to include charges for scanned and faxed documents, CDs, and flash drives.

The commissioners also signed an inter-local agreement with Columbia County for Shorelines Master Program management. The agreement is identical to the one entered into eight years ago between Garfield, Columbia, and Asotin counties. The Shoreline Master Program governs the management of areas where water and land touch on federal land. The water includes rivers and streams that are deemed large enough to be part of the program.
