POMEROY– The Garfield County Hospital District board welcomed two new commissioners at their meeting on December 6. Erica Stallcop and Sherry Ledgerwood were sworn into office, swearing an oath to support the Constitution of the United States and the laws of Washington State, and to faithfully and impartially carry out their duties. A farewell party was held at the end of the meeting for retiring commissioners Cindy Wolf and Chris Herres.

The final levy amount to be certified rose from $210,825.38 to $215,825.38 due to new construction numbers.

The six-month trial plan for tele-cardiology ended in November, and the program will not be continued due to the cardiologist ceasing tele-service. The Garfield County Memorial Hospital will keep the equipment and may participate in a similar program in the future, should one become available.

An additional $88,000 of American Rescue Plan funds has been granted, earmarked for Covid-19 uses.

The 2022 annual budget was passed, but it may be updated after the final 2021 cost review is received. The review is expected at the end of March 2022.
